Searching for insurance can be stressful. There are many questions that need to be answered such as how much coverage do you need? Is the company trustworthy and have your best interest in mind? Will the insurance company protect you in your time of need?
When people think of the term independent insurance agents, they typically do not think of a small-business owner. However, independent insurance agents are in fact small-business owners, contrary to popular belief they are not employees of the insurance companies whose products they offer. The insurance agency is often run by a few agents and administrative staff members. In many cases the agency is family owned.
An independent agent does not represent just one insurance company, typically the agency has access to multiple insurance companies which increases convenience and affordability in terms of pricing comparison.
They can take care of all their clients’ insurance needs at the same time. Independent agents can write many different lines of insurance. Including but not limited to personal, health, life, medicare, farm, commercial and umbrella insurance.
Clients receive a customized insurance plan, rather than a general one-size fits all plan, independent agents will take the time to understand clients’ needs and find a plan that works best for their needs and budget.
Agents can stay with the client, even if they switch insurance companies. Independent agents can also provide insurance reviews for their clients annually to make sure they’re still getting the best coverage at the best price.
Local support is typically one of the largest advantages to purchasing insurance from an independent agent. When working with an independent agent, clients are working with someone who is from the same community as them. Clients can create a relationship with their insurance agent and rely on them when you need support. The insurance agent is the advocate for the client, so it is ideal to have someone they trust and possibly know from their community.
